EDGES

In eight contributions, we trace the margins and borders, exploring EDGES. The three of us have written what you now hold in your hands for the fifth time. With an irregularity that has remained one of the few rules. Tangible, this time as a collage, dialogue, essay, photo series, poem, graphic novel, illustration and script. Shaped during a gathering sometime in the spring of a certain year. Along the edges of new and old acquaintances, a rhizome grows and puts down fresh roots. In the depths of the cellars and the heights of new vaults, a space thus comes into being, filled with lived and printed forms and questions. A space whose desire is to welcome, to bring people together and to inspire movement. So here is a warm invitation to contribute, to be part of it, to help set things in motion. Slowly, in a circle, back and forth, groping or feeling our way, directly or by detours, along the walls, perhaps even on the edge of something? Hang in there a little longer, dear reader; it won’t take much longer.

By the way, lava doesn’t burn. It ignites. It all depends on what it comes into contact with. And hopefully, amidst these currents of relationship and contact, of object and critique, of alienation and roots, of community and existence, you will hear a cry, a release of tension. Something that creates space for upheaval. Something that transforms tension and rough edges into relationships and connectedness. Something that sets the lava alight.
