EXTINCTION

Extinction means dying out or being destroyed. Not only have loads of animal and plant species already gone extinct, but the destruction of whole habitats and our planet is happening very fast. Existences are threatened, while others are still not recognised (keyword: Federal Council report of 21 December 2022). Fears are being conjured up, but hope, as we know, dies last. Are we already at the beginning of the end? Apocalypse now? What does tomorrow look like? Dystopia or utopia? Does something have to die out for something new to flourish? Patriarchy or capitalism, for example? And what comes after rebellion? Is extinction necessarily linked to death, or can it also be redemption or rediscovery? Are we going round in circles, fighting endless battles, again and again against the same nemesis? And despite all this, do we still dare to dream? Of a better way of living together?
